Happy New Year from Chatman Photography!

I would like to take this time to thank all of my clients for a wonderful year!  Without you I would not be able to do what I love.  Thanks to all of my supporters, my family, friends and fans who have cheered me on, your kind words have lifted me and I don't take any of that for granted.  I'm really looking forward to what 2012 brings!

After Hannah and Joe were hitched at the Doller House Winery in Put in Bay, we decided to do a quick trash the dress session the following day on Joe's boat.

It was bright and early but we had a great time!  Here are a few images...

I really enjoyed the weekend I spent at Put-in-Bay with Hannah & Joe.  They had a lovely ceremony and reception at the Doller House Winery with their closest friends and family.  It was absolutely perfect.

(Even better, my hubby got to tag along with me for the weekend and help!)

I was trying to think of what to post today, and instead of posting photos of another session I thought I'd post something a little different.    

I think at a young age, little girls can be left with the impression that you must be barbie-sized and picture perfect.  While I don't disagree that self-image and being healthy is important I'm referring to the model you see in the magazine that is absolutely flawless.  Having a teenage daughter myself I see how she and her friends are always comparing themselves to not only each other but to the celebrity on TV or model in the magazine.

Even though these videos have been shared before, I think it's so important to share again.  

Models are not perfect either.... 
To all of the little girls, teenagers, and women out there....embrace who you are!  You do not need to be photoshopped to be beautiful!  <3

Peter {1 year} | Canton, Ohio Portrait Photographer

Well I don't even know where to start with this little guy.  At just over one year old, Peter has already battled Neuroblastoma.  He is off treatment but still goes through a series of partial body castings.  Due to the way the tumor pressed on his spine, it is curving and he is far too young for surgery to fix it.


Peter and his parents met me at the studio to get his very first portraits taken. From the moment that we met Peter he was all smiles!!  It had been raining daily and was starting to get cold but we were able to sneak a few photos at McKinley Monument Park here in Canton and then head over to the studio.


I am so honored that Peter's parents entrusted me photograph their little man and a huge 'Thank you!' to Kids Cancer Crusade for sending this precious family my way!

I really can't say enough about Pooja.  She is such a delightful young lady.  

Pooja is a 2012 senior at Jackson High School.  She is involved in many activities including tennis and speech and debate.

I loved everything about this session.  We first started at my studio and then went to McKinley Memorial Park afterward.

Meet Felicia!!  She is a 2012 senior at Perry High School.  Felicia is in the medical program and has a bright future ahead of her.  

We started at the studio and then went to the park over at McKinley Memorial Monument.  This is a pretty popular spot for photographer's so i wanted to bring something a little different.  

I loved how gorgeous the sky is.

I recently photographed Josselyn who is a high school senior at McKinley High School here in Canton.  I was so excited to photograph her as she is just a natural beauty and so natural in front of the camera.  


We started out at my studio and got some basic shots and then went to Garden Center at McKinley Memorial Park in Canton.  


She absolutely rocked her session!!  Thanks for an awesome time Josselyn!!!

Matt ~ Louisville High School, class of 2012 | Canton, Ohio Photographer

We did a second session this past week to get some swimming images of him.  This time we met at the YMCA in Louisville.  This is also where the high school team meets.  I think we got some really cool shots and as always, Matt and his parents were a complete delight to work with.
